Optifel at the Food for Elderly International Conference!

OPTIFEL project was strongly represented at the “Food for Elderly International Conference” organized by Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou 15 – 17 octobre 2015. Three members from OPTIFEL’s consortium were invited speakers at  this conference organised by Professor Jianshe Chen, who is a former Optifel participant.


The OPTIFEL invited speakers and their titles are as follows:

Dr. Anwesha Sarkar: Eating capability of elderly subjects in UK and Spain: a quantitative assessment, School of Food Science & Nutrition, University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

Prof. Selcuk Yildirim: Evaluation of the accessibility of selected packaging for the elderly by qualitative surveys through focus group studies and quantitative measurements of the opening orces Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland.

Dr. Christophe Nguyen: The optimum design of elderly food in Europe, Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), Avignon, France.

Overall it was a very focussed conference attended by around 70 delegates.
